InverlinguaInverlingua Language Services is based near Inverness and offers language tuition at all levels in English and various other languages. Our courses are very flexible and we will happily design a course to suit the specific needs of any individual or organisation. Residential training programmes are currently being designed and will be launched in 2007.

Dundee College logoDundee College is a large further education college situated in a beautiful part of Scotland, beside the sea, and near the mountains. A wide range of courses is on offer, from digital media to Hairdressing. The International section offers English Language courses as preparation for Cambridge and IELTS exams, or as part of a Foundation programme leading to a place at university. There are also summer courses giving you a chance to experience Scotland at its best. CELTA courses, for those wishing to be English Language teachers are also offered twice a year. The college is well-known for its excellent social programme and Dundee is a very friendly city and one of the cheapest in Britain.

 

Telford College logoEdinburgh's Telford College offers education and training in a vast range of subjects and has enabled many people to improve their job prospects as well as widen their experience and skills.

 

St Andrews logoThe ELT Department at the University of St Andrews provides high quality English language teaching. We specialise in undergraduate and postgraduate university foundation courses in collaboration with our academic colleagues; we have a large and lively summer school programme including a number of ESP courses; we offer teacher training in TESOL; we have a presessional language and study skills course; we teach both language and linguistics modules within the university and we can provide tailor-made language teaching to individuals or small groups.

University of Glasgow logoWe offer courses in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) to overseas undergraduates and postgraduates, as well as those seeking entry to the University of Glasgow. We are also a test centre for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

Randolph School of English Edinburgh is a small and select Scottish summer college with no more than 58 students and an average of 40. We believe that responding to the needs of students from the beginning to the end of a course is the key to a happy and contented customer.The School is in a nineteenth century Georgian building in the centre of Edinburgh, providing a range of language courses and teacher training.

StirlingCELT was set up at the University of Stirling in 1981. We offer a 1-year Undergraduate Foundation Course, Short English Language Courses year round and a pre-sessional English for University Study Course from April to September. We also offer BA degrees in English as a Foreign Language, English Language Teaching and English Language & Business, Master's degrees in TESOL and Computer Applications for Language Learning and PhDs by research.

 

Communication and Language Studies (CALS) offers a unique range of English language and professional degree programmes.

Our English language programmes include support for international students on degree courses at the University and two specialised Foundation programmes. The Undergraduate Foundation prepares students planning to study Accountancy, Business Finance or Art-related degrees while the Foundation Diploma for Postgraduate Studies prepares students for the M.Sc. in International Business or CALS’ new postgraduate Masters in International Professional Communication (IPC). CALS also offers a teacher education degree programme in the form of the postgraduate Masters in Teaching Modern Languages to Adults (TMLA) which includes English Language Teaching.

The Centre also runs tailor-made English language courses for individuals and groups. Recent courses have included language and cultural training for German school teachers and Clinical and Cultural Communication Skills for international medical students.

Napier logoNapier University offers a flexible and varied programme in English for Academic Purposes, designed to give undergraduates and postgraduates a systematic preparation in the wide range of language skills necessary for success in English-medium higher education. The class sizes are small, and the teaching emphasises interactive participation in tasks relevant to the academic context. We also offer undergraduate and postgraduate modules in EFL, which may be combined with a variety of subjects within a degree.

Hawthorn Edinburgh logoEdinburgh School of English (Edinburgh School of English) is the longest established EFL school in Scotland (founded in 1969) and the only recognised school in Scotland to offer a complete range of courses for all ages. It is located in an historic building in the heart of the Old Town of Edinburgh.

 

The Robert Gordon University offers free ongoing English language support to International students, during their studies. The University also runs a summer pre-entry English programme for students who do not meet the required IELTS or TOEFL standard.

The Hamilton School of English was established in Edinburgh in 1983 with the aim of creating a safe, secure and happy environment in which young people (ages 12-18) would receive high standards of English tuition in a relaxed holiday atmosphere. We host our summer courses at Merchiston Castle School, and have the use of their bright, modern classrooms, superb sports facilities, and spacious green lawns.

Classes are small (av 10, max 12) and 18 hours tuition and project work are offered weekly. We try very hard to maintain a good mix of nationalities, in order to ensure maximum opportunity for English language practise, in and out of the classroom.

Students stay with host families personally selected by the principal, Mrs Darling. Activities include crafts, sports, drama, excursions in and out of Edinburgh.

We welcome individuals and small groups.

EAC Edinburgh Language School is now situated at 53 Queen Street in the centre of Edinburgh. University of Paisley logoUniversity of Paisley: As well as a summer pre-sessional course, we also run a year-round English language Foundation Course to prepare international students for university study. It includes modules in General, Academic and Business English, as well as the opportunity to take another module in a subject of their choice (e.g. accounting, marketing or IT).
