Brian Tomlinson
Brian Tomlinson is Reader in Language Learning and Teaching at Leeds
Metropolitan University, where he is Head of the Post-Graduate, Research
and Consultancy Unit. He has worked as a teacher, teacher trainer, curriculum
developer and university lecturer in Japan, Indonesia, Nigeria, Singapore,
the UK, Vanuatu and Zambia and has given presentations in over forty
countries. He is the Founder and President of MATSDA (the Materials Development
Association) and has published many articles and books (e.g. (with Rod
Bolitho) Discover English (Macmillan), Materials Development
in Language Teaching (Cambridge University Press), Developing
Materials for Language Teaching (Continuum Press), (with Hitomi
Masuhara) Developing
Language Course Materials (RELC) and Openings (Penguin).
He is currently working on Language Acquisition and Development:
Studies of Learners of First and Second Languages for Continuum
Press and a series of web readers (World Wide Web Readers) which
he is editing with Alan Maley for e-Books World.
